Nicky Boom is a fairy-tale themed side-scroller (you move ahead of the screen) game that mimics the late and great Mario Bros on the NES. You jump, duck, walk left, and walk right using this cubby clown faced kid that has the strange ability to toss apple cores at enemies, floating blocks, green spikes, stone walls, and etc. The ammo is unlimited, but not the only form of attack, Nicky can also stomp on anything from large crickets to giant snails that break into 2 smaller snails. Besides eradicating the local wildlife, there are also candies, gems, and trophies to collect, which increase your score by as little as 100 to 500 points. Often mixed-up with goodies, you can also pickup bombs (duck and hold fire to ignite), spike balls (hold fire to kill everything on screen), logs (for building bridges), and more that could rack up points considerably. With large stages to explore and goods stashed in hard to reach places, Nicky Boom is your typical shoot and bop scroller that's incredibly easy (except for the cheating bosses), and in the end, is aimmed more towards children with its cutesy graphics.
