SpamFilter User's Guide
The SpamFilter allows to separate/filter non-spam from spam e-mails prior to downloading them. With the weak filter all e-mails coming from addresses on the "Black list" go to the spam box. With the strong filter all e-mails coming from addresses not on the "Safe list" go to the spam box. The advanced filter is useful when spamers manipulate e-mail's headers, use fake e-mail addresses, "undisclosed" recipients, and similar tricks to avoid spam filtration. Users can preview e-mails, move messages to/from the spam box, add e-mail addresses or domains to "Safe list"/"Black list", and delete messages directly from the server without downloading them. This program handles any number of POP3 accounts.
1. Accounts
1.1 Add an account.
-Click on the item "Accounts" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Accounts" will appear.
-Click on the "Add" button. A new row will be added.
-Type a Server, User Name, and Password of the POP3 account. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
1.2 Edit an account.
-Click on the item "Accounts" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Accounts" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to edit.
-Edit a Server, User Name, and Password of the POP3 account. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
1.3 Delete an account.
-Click on the item "Accounts" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Accounts" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to delete.
-Click on the "Delete" button.
2. Black List
2.1 Add an e-mail or domain.
-Click on the item "Black List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Black List" will appear.
-Click on the "Add" button. A new row will be added.
-Type an e-mail address or domain. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
2.2 Edit an account.
-Click on the item "Black List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Black List" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to edit.
-Edit an e-mail address or domain. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
2.3 Delete an account.
-Click on the item "Black List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Black" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to delete.
-Click on the "Delete" button.
3. Safe List
3.1 Add an e-mail or domain.
-Click on the item "Safe List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Safe List" will appear.
-Click on the "Add" button. A new row will be added.
-Type an e-mail address or domain. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
3.2 Edit an account.
-Click on the item "Safe List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Safe List" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to edit.
-Edit an e-mail address or domain. (Click on the "Enter" key to leave a cell.)
-Click on the "Save" button.
3.3 Delete an account.
-Click on the item "Safe List" in the menu "Settings". The new window "Safe List" will appear.
-Click on the row you want to delete.
-Click on the "Delete" button.
4. Filter
4.1 Weak filter.
-Use this option if you want that to the Spam box go all e-mails from addresses or domains on the "Black List".
4.2 Strong filter.
-Use this option if you want that to the Non-spam box go only e-mails from addresses or domains on the "Safe Listt".
4.3 Advanced filter.
-Use this option when spamers manipulate e-mail's headers, use fake e-mail addresses, "undisclosed" recipients, and similar tricks to avoid spam filtration.
5. Spam Box
5.1 Move to the Non-Spam Box.
-Click on the row you want to move.
-Click on the button "Move to Non-spam". The selected message will be moved to the Non-spam box.
5.2 Add to the "Black List".
-Click on the row you want to add.
-Click on the button "Add to Black list". The e-mail address from the selected message will be added to the "Black list".
5.3 Preview a message.
-Click on the row you want to preview.
-Click on the button "Preview". The pre-selected number of the message's lines will be displayed in the "Results" window.
6. Non-Spam Box
6.1 Move to the Spam Box.
-Click on the row you want to move.
-Click on the button "Move to Spam". The selected message will be moved to the Spam box.
6.2 Add to the "Safe List".
-Click on the row you want to add.
-Click on the button "Add to Safe List". The e-mail address from the selected message will be added to the "Safe List".
6.3 Preview a message.
-Click on the row you want to preview.
-Click on the button "Preview". The pre-selected number of the message's lines will be displayed in the "Results" window.
7. Connection.
-Check that you have created "Accounts", "Safe list", "Black list"; have selected a Filter, number of lines to Preview.
-Click on the "Connect" button of the main form. The results of connections will be displayed in the new window -"Results". The main window will be blocked until the end of the operation.
8. Deletion.
-Click on the button "Delete" of the main form. All messages in the Spam box will be deleted on the POP3 servers. The main window will be blocked until the end of the operation.
