Walk-Thru
Sampling Colors:
The Eyedropper
To sample a color from your screen, click on the button that contains the eyedropper.
After your mouse cursor turns into an eyedropper, click on the area of the screen that contains the color you want to sample. Your cursor will return to normal, and the black area in the upper right hand corner will now be the color you clicked on. The Hexidecimal value of that color will appear in the box just below the sampled color, and the respective red, green and blue values of the color will appear on the left hand side.
To return to the application without sampling a color, right click anywhere on the screen.
The Magnification Tool
To use the magnification tool, click on the button that contains the magnifying glass. Your mouse cursor will turn into a magnifying glass. Click on any area of the screen and an enlargement of that area will appear on the screen in the center of the application. To sample a color from the magnification, move your mouse cursor over it. Click anywhere within the circle to sample the color.
To return to the application without sampling a color, simply right click anywhere on the screen.
Sending Color Values to the Clipboard:
To send any of the Red, Green, Blue or Hexidecimal values to the clipboard by themselves, simply right click on the color value next to the color.
Or, move your mouse over the Hexidecimal value and use the following function keys to send color values to the clipboard along with the accompanied text:
- F1 - color = #hexvalue
- F2 - color:#hexvalue;
- F3 - text = #hexvalue
- F4 - link = #hexvalue
- F5 - vlink = #hexvalue
- F6 - alink = #hexvalue

The Color Log
The program allows you to log Hexidecimal color values in an HTML file called csampler.html that is stored in the application's installation directory. To export a color to the color log, simply click on the button containing the arrow. The value will be automatically written to the HTML file and the color value will be displayed in the color that it represents. Be sure to reload the color log file in your browser if you have it open while logging color values.
To view the color log, click on the button containing the L. The application will open your default browser and display the Color Log.
