For every problem solved .... Three more are created. The private message alert was causing some browsers *cough* IE *cough*, to sign users after mere seconds. Very frustrating, On the other hand some browsers *cough* Netscape/Firefox *cough* were claiming users were logged in when they weren't. Hopefully this bug has been fixed, only time will tell ;-)
