It's Saturday night, all my friends are gone, I am stuck home suffering from the kissing disease (thanks to some bloke I made out with on a whim a few weeks ago) drinking cheap white wine and reading Lord of the Flies. Somebody save me, I'm bored as f**k...

long time I've been 'round here by the way!

Thank you for the warm welcome back, everyone! For the last couple of weeks I've been having my own little adventures in The Big World. But since I'm sick now I can't act as I usually do because I'll collapse...oh well. I was quite angry yesterday because I found out there was a party on saturday night...and I forgot...sniff :( Anyway, I have been dosgaming over the weekend and let me tell you, it was hard sleeping last night after finishing Laura Bow I! I was very angry at my big imagination, let me tell you...

and I love you too Munky...maybe

I just started on Laura Bow 2... I tell you, I loved the first one. I played it pretty constantly when I was younger.

I finished Laura Bow I two times now, one time with a walkthrough and one time without. And call me ridiculous, but this 1989 is capable of leaving me without sleep for 2 nights. It seriously scares me...I don't like the graphics for Laura Bow II, so I won't play it. Maybe that's the best for my sleep

That is something that is really missing from a lot of games now. Storytelling. Even with all the competition and advances made, good storytelling still hasn't really caught on. Sure, there are a few examples, and for all the accolades that those examples receive, storytelling still hasn't really caught on.

I was kind of hoping for a stagnation of processor power, at least for a little while, just so that companies would have to rely on something besides power and neat engines to set their games apart. (Or maybe it would simply denigrate for who could out shock the players or who can come up with the most original gameplay, and I will admit that gameplay is of extreme importance).

Man, I sound a lot older than I am. Is that a gray hair already? Damn!

Luckily there are SOME games with good stories...The Longest Journey series is a good example. The game 'Dreamfall' was released two years ago, it's a good game. You should try it, it's the fantastic storytelling of 1987 paired with the great graphics of today! :)

All I could get was the demo.

Though, if that was all, I still love it.

Thanks just the same.
