After trying to find a way to make it run in Windows for quite some time I finally found a program called Myjemm that emulates the Jemm memory manager that is needed to run this game. I've included Myjemm in this copy as well as the Righteous Fire expansion, the speech pack for in flight speech and a .pdf scan of the original game manual. it can be downloaded here: http://www.4shared.com/file/26163389/95e5b52c/Privateer.html To play the game just click on the Myjemm.exe file. to run the expansion you'll have to open a Dos prompt window, switch to the directory the game is in and type the command: Myjemm r. Myjemm can also run several other old Wing Commander games. To get the commands to run these just read the Readme1.txt file. This only works for Windows 95, 98, and ME. Angelfire.com has the info to run this game in Windows 2000 and XP. |
