Peel off ye olde shrink wrap. Open up ye olde box and prepare for ye olde adventure! Conquests of Camelot gives you the chance to live out the artherian legend and save camelot from certain destruction. If you want a king Arthur game where you slay dragons and defend kingdoms from evil black knights don't come here. This game deals with king Arthur's search for the holy grail and as such your never to far away from a preachy religious refrence. This was the first in the conquests series and was a little more complicated than sierras other adventures. For starters the dialogue was in olde english and the game required some rudimentry knowledge of the crusades and king Arthur's classic tale to finish the game. The game tried to be free form by breaking the story into three individual quests to perform and letting you pick the order in which to do them but as you'll find rather soon you really only get the choice of two. The arcade scenes in this game were difficult at best and on later systems may prove to be the stuff of nightmares. The game is in the early point and click stages but the parser interface is easy enough to use. The only real gripe I have about this game is the preachy and judgemental overtones later in the game. You will need the manual to finish this game and probably a walkthrough as well. This game was tough. All the religious babble in the game made it difficult to understand exactly what the puzzles required. If you're a collector or love the era grab this game, otherwise you may be a little dissapointed.
