User Request Catch Up

Whilst I writhe in agony at a recent knee injury what more of an opportunity do I need to upload, all the games that you, the users, have been asking for. All these games have been requested in the request forum. MechWarrior, The Games: Winter Challenge, The Games: Summer Challenge, California Games II, California Games I, Gunship 2000 and Genesia. But wait, theres more, somebody requested Krusty's Fun House, via email. These are all great games, have fun playing.

Now with over 700 DOS games!!

Today's update marks the passing of the 700th game. Currently there are 701 games online, the all important 701st game, means DOS Gamer can boast "over 700 games." So what are the games that tippled the game count from the 600's to the 700's? Well how about Romance of The Three Kingdoms I (II & III are already online!), Trolls (remember them?) and WWF Wrestlemania. (You gotta remember that!) Have fun!

British Summer Time / Daylight Saving Time

It's the last Sunday of March, which for the UK and most of the EU, means we are now officially ready to enjoy our summer, maybe? Don't forget to put your clocks forward an hour. Although our U.S, visitors have to wait until April 2nd.

System Overhaul

A website can only be as powerful as the clever sh*t making it all work on the back-end i.e. Server code and Databases, it has become obvious for some time now that DOS Gamer is struggling to cope with the increased load of users, games, active connections, account manangement, etc. To combat this, the WHOLE site is going to have to be re-written to work with the much faster SQL Server database system which, when complete will see a huge speed increase right accross DOS Gamer. I am already hard at work writing the new platform, which is going to mean updates are going to be scarce, for the next month. But it'll be worth the wait. :-)
